Higher voter turnout in the Fifth Switzerland thanks to e-voting

For the first time in eight years, a group of Swiss Abroad were able to elect their representatives to parliament electronically last Sunday. After the votes on 18 June 2023, the Swiss Abroad in the cantons of Basel-Stadt, Thurgau and St Gallen were allowed to test the new Swiss Post e-voting system for the second time. And once again it became clear that participation in the Fifth Switzerland tends to be higher when e-voting is available.
