Rudolf Wyder (OSA Director)
As Director of the Organisation of the Swiss Abroad, Rudolf Wyder is the publisher of “Swiss Review”. He says: “Information is part of the core business of the Organisation of the Swiss Abroad. “Swiss Review” is and will remain our flagship. Thanks to federal government support, the magazine is sent to all Swiss households abroad.” Dr. phil. Rudolf Wyder has been OSA Director since 1987.
Barbara Engel (Editor-in-Chief)
Before taking up her post of Editor-in-Chief of «Swiss Review», at the beginning of 2011, Barbara Engel was a member of the Foreign Editorial Board of «Der Bund» newspaper. This position took her on trips almost everywhere in the world. Previous stages of her journalistic career were spent with the Swiss weekly, «Weltwoche», and with Swiss Radio DRS, where she worked on the «Press Review» and «Regional Journal». In her early years, Barbara Engel lived in Lima for nearly six years, as a Swiss citizen abroad.
Miriam Hutter (Editorial Assistant)
Miriam Hutter has been editorial assistant at “Swiss Review” since March 2010. Her pivotal role involves contact with readers, the central and regional editorial teams, the committee, graphic designers, translators and proofreaders. She is also responsible for advertising and management of the website.
Manuel Gnos (Editor)
Manuel Gnos joined the editorial team of “Swiss Review” in June 2011. Gnos has run an agency for culture, communication and photography since 2010 and organises cultural events at Café Kairo in Berne. Gnos was previously head of the online editorial team at “Bund” for ten years.
René Lenzin (Editor)
René Lenzin was editor-in-chief of “Swiss Review” from August 1992 to the end of 1998 before becoming parliamentary correspondent for the “St. Galler Tagblatt”. He is now Ticino correspondent for the Zurich-based “Tages-Anzeiger” and reports on federal politics for “Swiss Review”. René Lenzin has always had a strong interest in the Swiss abroad. He has also written a dissertation on emigration to Ghana after the Second World War.
Marc Lettau (Editor)
Marc Lettau has been part of the editorial team of “Swiss Review” since June 2011. He lives in Berne and has spent many years working part-time as an editor on the daily newspaper “Bund”. Marc Lettau has family roots in Bulgaria and close ties with the Swiss abroad community as members of his family have lived in Tasmania for many years.
Jean-François Lichtenstern (Editor of “Notes from Parliament”)
Having joined the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA) in 1974, Jean-François Lichtenstern got to know the Swiss abroad well in a career abroad that saw him posted to some twelve locations. In addition to a spell in Hong Kong, his career took him from Europe to the Americas. He was the Swiss Consul General in San Francisco before taking up the position of head of the Service for the Swiss Abroad in the FDFA’s Political Affairs Division VI in August 2009.
Alain Wey (Editor)
Alain Wey is editor of “Swiss Review” for French-speaking Switzerland. Originally from Biel, he now lives in the Canton of Fribourg and after his degree in sociology at Neuchâtel worked mainly as a journalist and web publisher for "Cooperation", the French edition of the "Coop-Zeitung".
Franz Herzog (Graphic Designer)
Before establishing himself as a freelance magazine graphic designer in Zurich, Franz Herzog was responsible for the layout of the highly regarded cultural magazine “DU” for many years. These days, his responsibilities include the visual presentation of “Swiss Review”.
